Opportunities to Serve
Buildings & Grounds cares for St. Timothy's physical plant and the land surrounding the building. These are great ministry opportunities for families.
Spring/Fall Property Clean-up: clear the grounds of natural debris and make ready the upcomings season. Twice per year
Painter: paint designated areas and occasionally touch-up previously painted areas. May take 2-4 hours to complete task, depending on the area to be painted. The materials are supplied. As needed
Bid Coordinator: secure bids for lawn care, snow removal, window cleaning, carpet cleaning through phone calls and meeting at the church for a walk-thru with potential companies. Each bid process involves 1-2 hours of time. A common spec sheet is available for bid comparison. As needed
Handyperson: complete easy repairs to our facility, perform small maintenance repairs in and around the building. Plumbing, electrical knowledge and general handyman skills are helpful. As needed
Gardener: weed flowerbeds around the grounds as necessary, care for garden/flower plantings throughout the growing season. As needed
Interior Improvement works at the direction of the rector to ensure that the church building remains flexible in use and consistent in design.
Member: enjoy creativity, interior design and decorating work. As needed
Communications works to create and distribute the various pieces that keep our members and others informed about our parish.
Website Designer: work with others (including the rector, the parish secretary, and the Vestry), primarily via email, to keep St. Timothy's website as useable and attractive as possible. Work is done from the designer's home through a website interface. 4-6 hours per month as needed
Website Maintainer: upload photos, calendar events, and other timely information to the website so that members and visitors stay up-to-date with all the events at St. Timothy's. Work is done from the maintainer's home through a website interface, no experience is necessary. Training will be provided if needed. One hour per week
Press Release Writer: help share the good news of our parish with members of the media and other groups. Write and distribute press releases and media advisories about upcoming events from your home. One hour per week as needed
Newsletter Editor: collect and lay out (and occasionally write) articles for the monthly parish newsletter, the St. Timothean. Prepare the newsletter for web upload and printing. 4-6 hours per month
Bulletin Board Editor: update the various bulletin board displays around the church with current photos, information and announcements. One hour per week
Photographer: take photos at parish events for use in the newsletter, the bulletin boards, website, scrapbooks and more. As needed
Historian/Scrapbooker: archive photos, newspaper articles and other mementos of the story of our life as a parish. As needed
The Finance Team makes recommendations and communicates the financials of St. Timothy's.
Offering Counter: complete the weekly check/cash reconciliation, prepare the weekend's receipts for posting, make weekly deposit. 1 hour every 4-6 weeks
The Nursery provides childcare during worship services and other parish events.
Childcare Provider: supervise kids (6 months to 3 years old) individually or with another volunteer during the 10:15 service. Help is also needed occasionally for special events during the week. One time per month
Office help assists in the office when the church secretary is away. As needed
Receptionist: help answer phones and greet visitors. As needed
Mailing Assistant: help fold bulletins, newsletters, large mailings, etc. As needed
