Parish Life sponsors events and activities that are primarily social and are aimed at building fellowship within our Christian community.

Fellowship Hour allows parishioners time to gather for coffee, kool-aid, treats, and fellowship after both services each week.

Hospitality Coordinator: schedule fellowship hour volunteers and assure program runs smoothly; be responsible for the purchasing and maintaining up-to-date inventory of food and supplies. One hour or less per week

Coffee maker: prepare coffee and lemonade or kool-aid prior to morning services. One hour or less per week

Treat Provider: bring treats for fellowship hour after 10:15 service. One hour or less per week

Set-up and Clean-up: set up (treats, kool-aid, coffee, coffee cups and glasses) and clean up following fellowship hour. One hour or less per week

First Sunday Breakfast gives the men of St. Timothy's a chance to host a breakfast on the first Sunday of each month (October through May) as a way to bring parishioners together.

Food Preparer: bring a breakfast item (casserole, ham, bacon, muffins, etc) to the Hall at 8:25 a.m. Be available to serve breakfast and clean up. Two hours per month

Newcomer Greeters are dedicated to welcoming new members into the St. Timothy's
community. This ministry involves providing information about services and activities as well as introducing visitors to other members of the parish.

Newsletter Contributors: write articles introducing new members to the community.  One hour as needed

Receptions offer fellowship and food following special worship celebrations and funerals.

Coordinator: solicit food donations and servers as needed for events.  Contact church
sexton to arrange parish hall set-up, coordinate table settings (paper products and centerpieces, enlist other workers as necessary. Four hours as needed

Hosts: prepare food, decorate tables, serve food, and/or clean up.  Hosts are most frequently needed during the day.  Arrangements can be made to pick up food donations. 2-4 hours as needed

Geodes is a social group of parishioners in the 50 "or better" age group who meet once a month for a fellowship potluck dinner and socializing.

Steering Committee: coordinates the Geodes group. Meets twice annually and at
monthly dinners. Two hours per month

The SAINTS Softball Team strives to bring parishioners together for fun and fellowship outside of services. It is a great opportunity for newcomers to meet church members and multiple generations to participate in an activity together.

Players (18 and older): have fun and play ball during the Spring season (April through mid-June) and/or the Fall season (late August through end of October). 1 hour per week

Team Coordinator/Manager: be responsible for submitting roster/registration, communicate with players, and be the "manager" at games. 1-2 hours per week

The Big Event is an annual Spring social gathering, silent auction and White Elephant sale for all parishioners which serves as St. Timothy's biggest fundraiser.

Chairperson(s) and Volunteers: coordinate, provide status updates, follow up with volunteers, and determine time flow for the event (Publicity, Silent Auction White Elephant, Music/Entertainment, Set Up/Dˇcor, Child Care/Activities, Clean Up ). Two hours per week (planning begins 3 months prior)

The Church Picnic is an annual Fall social gathering for all parishioners, usually held the first Sunday of the new Sunday School season.

Chairperson(s) and Volunteers: coordinate volunteers, provide status updates, follow up with volunteers, and determine time flow for the event (Publicity, Food, Set Up/Dˇcor, Activities, Clean Up) Two hours per week (planning begins 2 months prior)

Epiphany Party is an annual evening event, held on the Feast of the Epiphany, consisting of a potluck meal and entertainment preceding the Epiphany service (Wednesday, January 6, 2010).

Coordinator: arrange for entertainment, decorations and dessert (traditionally a "King's Cake" or "Epiphany Cake." Coordinate potluck dinner. Arrange for volunteers to help with set-up and clean-up. 2-3 hours as needed to plan, 2 hours at event

Easter Vigil Champagne Reception is a champagne reception held immediately following the Easter Vigil service (Saturday, April 3, 2010).

Coordinator: arrange for and purchase refreshments, including champagne and sparkling grape/apple juice. Arrange for decorations, set-up and clean-up. 2-3 hours as needed to plan, 2 hours at event

The Blessing of the Animals is a service in honor of St. Francis, patron saint of animals.

Coordinator(s): communicate the date and time of the event; send press release to West Des Moines Register; provide snacks for animals and snacks for Moms and Dads of the animals. Two hours as needed
