Pastoral Ministries offer support and encouragement to those who are hurting as they experience life's bumps as well as to those who are experiencing a joyous life-changing event.

Loaves and Fishes provides meals to members of St. Timothy's community who through illness, recovery and/or other family times (birth of a child) would benefit from a prepared meal.

Coordinator: solicit and coordinate volunteer chefs to prepare and deliver meals to individuals/families in need of assistance. Schedule volunteer meals and provide directions for delivery to the recipients. Contact eligible family to identify needs or requests and communicate those needs to volunteers. 1-2 hours as needed

Meal Preparer - Angel Chef: prepare and deliver a meal to the individual/family when the need is present. One hour as needed

Lay Eucharistic Ministers take the Holy Eucharist to St. Timotheans, and others upon request, who are unable because of illness or other reason to come to the church for worship.

Lay Ministers: make visits in homes, hospital rooms or wherever the need can be met. An abbreviated service and the scripture readings for the day form the basis for the visit. There are no scheduled meetings, but training is offered for new members of the group. Once a month by rotation

Notes of Care provides written, personal notes that say "we care about you." They are sent to help celebrate happy times such as baptisms, weddings and wedding anniversaries, birthdays and births of babies. They are also sent at times of grieving or when someone is hospitalized or has just returned home from being ill.

Note Writer: commit to a month individually or with another note writer to prepare and send a note for each event that happens during that time. One month per year

The Order of St. Luke the Physician is a worldwide interdenominational body of Christians who believe that the healing of the body, mind and spirit is a vital part of the total ministry of Jesus Christ. St. Timothy's is a member of the Des Moines chapter.

Member: share in intercessory prayer specifically for healing opportunities. The chapter sponsors workshops and guest speakers to talk about healing in a variety of settings. One meeting per month

Prayer Chain is a confidential ministry whose members offer daily prayers for anyone in the St. Timothy's family whenever there is a time of need. Prayer Chain members pray at their homes each day, calling upon God for healing.

Member: receive notification usually by email about prayer opportunities; take time throughout the day to lift needs to God in prayer. As needed

Prayer Shawls and Baptismal Blankets provide specially made shawls and blankets to members of community who are enduring  illness, loss of a loved one, or recovery, or experiencing joy-filled times such as weddings and new babies. This ministry also provides baptismal blankets for all newly baptized children.

Shawl or Blanket Maker: choose and prayerfully make a blanket (knitted, quilted or crocheted) to be presented to a newly baptized child or to someone needing comfort. As needed

Coordinator: solicit individuals to provide prayer shawls and baptismal blankets as needed. Provide encouragement for those making the prayer shawls and baptismal blankets. Confirm the number of Baptismal Blankets needed and when they are available from the volunteers, assist in preparing the blankets for Blessing and distribution. 1-2 hours as needed
